Exide Technologies Cost Analyst/Accountant in Milton, Georgia

Overview

The Cost Analyst/Accountant position will maintain the bill-of-materials (BOM) and costing in JD Edwards and serve as the key position in the implementation of the annual cost update.

This high visibility position will also assist with monthly inventory reconciliations, the month-end close process, and several critical functions and analyses involving inventory accounting.

Responsibilities

Duties include the following:

  • Maintain bill-of-materials (BOM), Item Master, and routing in JD Edwards to ensure proper inventory costing.

  • Implement annual cost update.

  • Generate and manage approvals for scrap/obsolescence reports.

  • Reconcile in-transit inventory accounts and work with the field to get transactions cleared.

  • Reconcile General Ledger accounts to inventory subledger monthly.

  • Third-party vendor inventory management

  • Monitor key General Ledger accounts daily for problems with production, receiving and shipping.

  • Assist with the month-end close process.

  • Assist with the annual Physical Inventory as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 3 - 8 years direct accounting experience in Cost Accounting preferred.

  • Bill of Materials (BOM) and inventory reconciliation interest a plus.

  • Excellent organization, time-management and communication skills.

  • Strong PC and analytical skills. (Pivot tables and VLOOKUP in Excel.)

  • Ability to work independently.

  • ERP experience (i.e. JD Edwards or Oracle) a plus.
