Exide Technologies Regional Marketing Manager in Mississauga, Ontario


The Regional Marketing Manager will oversee all marketing activities for the applicable country or region covering Transportation, Motive and Network businesses supporting the delivery of sales plans that range between $50M

to $100M annually. In this role the individual will support the execution of the company;’s overall Americas marketing plans for products and services. In addition the individual must support the development of the strategic plan for the local business and to meet local customer requirements.

The position is key to understanding the Canadian market and competetitive landscape while ensuring alignment of goals for pricing, margin, mix, product, program and service development, launches, promotions and overall communication. Ensuring cross-functional interactions occur internally and engagement in customer facing activities as required are critical to the role.


  • Execute overall Americas region plan while accounting for regional customer requirements and market opportunities.

  • Develop overall strategic plan for the country.

  • Segmentation review, target selection and action plans to achieve results

  • Management of promotional budget and creation of actions to achieve results

  • Knowledge and recomemndations for horizontal and vertical pricing for the country/market

  • Creation of communication plan to support launches and to strengthen general brand equity

  • Determine and execute SGA spend for marketing as it relates to business unit

  • Responsible for short term and long term market forecasting with participation in S&OP process

  • Align business unit performance monitoring and recommendation of actions to achieve results

  • Participate in key customer visits in an effort to support sales efforts

  • Responsible for meeting market share and product line profitability (P&L) commitments to the business.

  • Product line results based on growth in top-line revenue and contribution margin.

  • Work closely with central markelting teams in US and EU

  • Support regional industry and customer events

  • Suport and liason with key industry organization (CBA – Canadian Battery Association. AIA – Automotive Industries Association)



  • Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • College degree.

  • MBA preferred.

  • At least 10 years of experience working in marketing and/or sales.

  • 5 years in marketing activity

  • Automotive, Heavy Duty, Speciality or Industrial background preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in creating business case and executing product development plans that have resulted in profitable growth.

  • Demonstrated cross-functional team leadership.

  • Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:

  • Ability to move between daily tactical activities and strategic for Transportation and Industrial businesses

  • Thought leader

  • Strong analytical ability

  • Strong project management skills

  • Draw accurate conclusions/insights from financial and quantitative information.

  • Summarize business and financial data in a useful manner for planning and decision making.

  • Convey understanding of market conditions

  • Stay abreast of key trends impacting strategy globally as well as local market trends

  • Understand brand positioning and market segmentation.

  • Have experience working with agencies and outside vendors.

  • Executive level communications and selling skills.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft suite of products.
