Exide Technologies Regional Sales Manager - Transportation in Mississauga, Ontario

Overview

The Regional Sales Manager will have primary responsibility for all channel customer activity

including total sales results in an assigned territory. This position is responsible for both

acquisition and maintenance of customers for various programs and channels; including

traditional aftermarket distribution, Original Equipment Service covering automotive, heavy

duty and specialty segments. The REMOTE position will be located in Toronto / GTA region.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES / AUTHORITIES :

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.

 Customer contact, including personal visits as required and other forms of follow-up.

 Training of customers’ personnel regarding battery sales techniques, technical

information and programs.

 Prospecting for new accounts, and determination of growth opportunities with existing

accounts.

 Salesforce Pipeline Management and Call Reporting

 Customer service and problem resolution

 Trade show coordination and presentation

 Participation in special “sales blitz” campaigns in own territory or other territories as

requested.

 Maintaining adequate customer program knowledge

 Maintaining adequate skill levels for job function

 Sales & Presentation

 Computer literacy

 Information Retrieval

 Attending Exide training programs or Exide sponsored training as required

 Budget planning and execution

 Interfacing with Key /Strategic Account Managers for feedback & support

 Obtaining and forwarding competitive intelligence from the marketplace

 Receiving and executing directives from the Zone Manager

 Additional assignments as required by Management Team

Qualifications

Required Skills, Competencies and Knowledge:

We seek a candidate with a progressively responsible career history and demonstrated success

in territory sales or key account management. He or she must possess a high level of business

acumen and the quantitative/analytical capacity to understand complex sales processes.

Strategic selling skills, effective negotiating skills, and commitment to customers are required.

The successful candidate will have 3 – 5 years’ experience, effective salesmanship with well-

developed sales skills. In addition to that, they must possess the following:

 Knowledge of automotive aftermarket and products

 An outstanding track record of influencing decisions and making a positive impact.

 Energy, initiative, accountability and results orientation are required.

 A progressively responsible career history and demonstrated success in territory sales

 A high level of business acumen and the quantitative/analytical capacity to understand

complex sales processes.

 Skills to effectively use CRM tools in managing opportunities, win/loss of projects, and

target objectives

 Strategic selling skills, effective negotiating skills, and commitment to customers are

required.

 Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

 Collaborative work style, one that solicits ideas and shares information to develop

creative solutions and winning strategies across the Exide/GNB sales organization.

 Resourcefulness and creativity, with excellent time management and organizational

skills.

 Technical competency and be PC proficient, including standard business software and

the Internet.

 Integrity, team orientation and desire to over achieve are of the utmost importance.

Education and Experience:

 Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales

 Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in sales, marketing or a related field

 Must possess a valid driver’s license.

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers.

 Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.
